I was born to move, feet on the pavement, holes in my shoes. Shelter blues. All the sickness, bastard cops. Not a chance in hell I can walk this all off. Shelter blues, shelter blues. You look like a leader but you ain’t got a vision to speak of. Yeah I hear ya but it don’t mean a thing to me. I’m tired of the double speak. Tents on Broadway, bombed buildings on first. How can you say it’s a system that works. Shelter blues. No mask on your mouth, wool on your eyes. It’s the old American disguise. Shelter blues, shelter blues. You look like a leader but you ain’t got a vision to speak of. Yeah I hear ya but it don’t mean a thing to me. I’m tired of the double speak.
